Here is this week's TDT!
1. First up we have some Local Natives with their song Airplane. This song is alternative to its core, albeit with an interesting introduction. The song is quirky and embodies some fun qualities of alternative rock. This song was uploaded to YouTube on 1/21/2011. It is a pretty fun song and I wanted to get it in before it turned a year old.
2. Second this week is Help is On the Way by Rise Against. This classic punk band is releasing constantly. Their music retain's the same original grit that the punk movement was all about, but the songs are universal enough to appeal to most audiences.
3. Third, Midnight City by M83. This is a cool song. Synth bass lines are combined with some great electronic pop sounding lines in this alternative chill song. Apart from my blatant lack of understanding for this video there isn't much else to say about the song. The song's music video was uploaded to the band's YouTube account on 10/17/2011.
4. And then we have some Electric Touch with their song, currently playing on Altnation on SiriusXM radio, Don't Stop. This song rocks. I love the feel of it, and it relates to everybody. The song is fairly new, uploaded to the band's YouTube on 10/7/2011.
That's all for today folks, see you tomorrow for WAY BACK WEDNESDAY!
Hit me up on Twitter and Facebook.
Peace.

SUB WOOFER SATURDAY 11/26/2011
Over the last week I was privileged enough to attend a few wonderful shows. Those shows inspired me to add electronic to my blog as a more regular piece.
So here we go, the first Sub Woofer Saturday.
1. I got to see Zed's Dead, the Canadian dubstep duo, this week. They dropped a lot of great tracks but the energy was so vamped for Rude Boy. This particular mix is Zed's Dead and Omar LinX. Rude Boy is a great song that encompasses heavy bass with plenty of tripped out electronic.
2. Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites - Dirtyphonics Remix. I love this song. I saw Dirtyphonics at Best Buy Theater and I almost died when they dropped this track. Seriously. The entire place was rocking hard. This is some seriously grimy dubstep, and nothing tops these guys live. The mixing was beautiful and displayed their talent perfectly.
3. 50 Caliber - Funtcase. Cool ass song. These guys opened with Liquid Stranger for Dirtyphonics. I love the drop in this song it goes so mellow and flawless. It encompasses everything that I love about a heavy drop, without a huge build up, which I think is really cool. Instead of climbing up and then dropping hard this song kind of flattens off and then drops like a cliff!
Thats all I got for tonight folks!
Tune in TUESDAY FOR ANOTHER TDT!
Peace.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING and THROWBACK THURSDAY!
Here are some awesome Throwbacks for Turkey Day!
1. Vampire Weekend's Giving Up the Gun is a great song. I love Vampire Weekend, this band has been around for awhile, I remember the first time I heard Kids Don't Stand a Chance, this song captures the same identity that is Vampire Weekend. Catchy lyrics on an awesome track, that is also pretty chill.
2. Fader by the Temper Trap is number 2 this week. I love the Temper Trap, they are a pretty cool band. This song could be described as the power pop style answer to their previous hit, Sweet Disposition.
3. Trinity by the Paper Tongues. The Paper Tongues are awesome and this is a catchy song that encompasses a serious message. "You got a way of living, Your ways, I want that. I try to live my life for the people who need a come back. There's too many problems to think that you can fix me, my name is called the World and I'm dying of unbelief see." Great song

WAY BACK WEDNESDAY 11/23/2011
Here is the FIRST Way Back Wednesday. These songs are classic rock or alternative from the 60s, 70s and 80s that help define today's music.
1. Light My Fire by the Doors. Jim Morrison and his band really lit a fire with their alternative sounds, one of the great things that the Doors did for alternative was the incorporation of the organ into songs. While this had been going on the Doors were able to take it to such a timeless level that we still listen to the song today.
2. Satisfaction by the Rolling Stones. Everybody loves the Rolling Stones. These rock gods will outlive Miley Cyrus. Satisfaction is a great Stones tune that everybody knows and influences many acts today. The Rolling Stones had it right, so clearly their model is a decent one to follow.
3. Baba O'Riley (Teenage Wasteland) by the Who is song number 3. Just like the Doors, the Who used organs and synthesizers in these songs too. The Who had two main strategies, raw garage band style, and also overly orchestrated style, courtesy of Townshend and Daltrey.
These songs all influenced alternative and punk today.

TDT 11/22/2011
HEY ALL! Here it is!
1. First off we got some Incubus. The song Promises, Promises is one of my favorite Incubus songs. I think it really is a beautiful song with meaning for everyone. This song was posted on YouTube, on the band's VEVO profile, on 6/21/2011.
2. Second song, off of their new return album, After Midnight by Blink-182. The new album came out 9/27/2011. This song is pretty cool and its interesting to see how Blink has changed from how they were before they broke up and become an entirely new animal.
3. All I Ever Wanted by The Airborne Toxic Event This song was uploaded to the Band's VEVO on 10/21/2011. This song carries some awesome meaning. All I Ever Wanted is that thing you can never get, who doesn't know that story? The Airborne Toxic Event has captured another great tune in this song. Check it out!
4. Florence and the Machine, with the song What the Water Gave Me. As with all the Florence and the Machine songs, this was another one I was unsure about when it came out. It grew on me the more I heard it. This song is one that I began to appreciate because of the complexities that are orchestrated into it. This song is pretty cool and I recommend you check it out.
Light week this week guys and I'm sorry for that, I'll be sure to get you tomorrow for WAY BACK WEDNESDAY!

FIRST THROWBACK THURSDAY!
These songs are all over a year old. They don't qualify for TDT, but they are still awesome songs that everybody ever should always know. Ever.
1. The Impression that I Get by the Mighty Mighty Bosstones. This song. Love it. Never forget it. This is quality ska. No matter what I have been listening to this song is usually always somewhere in my playlist.
2. Naive by the Kooks. This song is one of my favorite songs of all time. It was recently a SOMM, in fact I think it was the first SOMM I ever posted, but I listen to this song all the time. It just plain makes me feel better.
3. Rome by Phoenix. I love this band. I really am excited for new Phoenix to come out, this is one of the first newer alternative bands I really loved. Seeing them live was one of the most wonderful experiences of my life, and I really want to see them again.
4. Next Girl by the Black Keys. This song rocks. I love the Black Keys. They are just a downright cool experience to listen to. That's right, I called it an experience. You NEED to experience the Black Keys.
That is the first Throwback Thursday!
Peace.

NEW FEATURE TOMORROW!
Tomorrow will be the first ever THROWBACK THURSDAY on TDT!
Throwback Thursday tracks are songs that are over 1 year old, and sadly do not qualify for Track Drop Tuesday status. They are, however, still great songs that all rock, so I am going to post them anyway under THROWBACK THURSDAYS, a new feature to the blog.
If you have any questions about what counts as a Throwback Thursday Track, anything that is over a year old, and also awesome. This is a prime example, HERE. <--- it won't kill you to click, but it is kind of a joke. Older songs that you love could qualify as Throwbacks! Send me a tweet or e-mail with your favorite songs.
Hope you guys like the new feature! If you have any questions or suggestions for Throwbacks or Track Drops just let me know on Twitter @TDTuesdays, or at trackdroptuesdays@gmail.com

TDT 11/15/2011
HEY! Time for a new TDT!
1. This song is almost a year old, I'm glad I discovered it now, because if I waited less than another month and a half it would be more than a year old, and not qualify for TDT. The Wombats have this awesome song called Jump Into the Fog. This song is catchy, featuring synth lines and a good drum beat, as well as a quality voice. It was uploaded to the band's YouTube account on 12/26/2010.
2. The song Trojans by Atlas Genius is song number two on this week's post. This song features the singer's voice, without much complexity in the background in the beginning of the song. It picks up in the chorus, but I like the simplistic style of music that builds into a orchestrated piece as the song goes on. This song was uploaded to the band's YouTube account on 9/5/2011.
3. I officially love the Black Keys. If I didn't love them before I certainly do now. This song is awesome. I love the song and I also LOVE the video. Keep in mind that this is the video uploaded to the band's YouTube account, on 10/25/2011. It is the first single from El Camino, the band's next album. Lonely Boy, with its classic rock oriented song and hilarious video is one of my favorites this week.
4. Song number 4. Bombay Bicycle Club's tune Shuffle. This song is catchy, and the band is pretty cool. The singer does indeed look a little bit like Ferris Bueler, which I think is just downright awesome. This band can be described simply, as one YouTube comment put it, "Nerdy with a[n] edge of cool". This song was uploaded to the band's VEVO account on 7/22/2011.
5. Last, but not least is Young the Giant. Their song Cough Syrup is a great tune. I love this song and I have for months. The video is very odd, but that makes sense for a song with the title of "Cough Syrup". The song was uploaded to the band's YouTube account 6/22/2011.
This week's TDT Crown goes to the Wombats. I really enjoyed their song, it conveyed a message, to me, about the unknowable future, and how we have to deal with it, hopefully landing feet first.
Peace.

SONG ON MY MIND + NEW FEATURE!
Hey guys!
Right off the bat here is the SOMM. I have not been able to stop listening to this. I know, this might seem crazy. Here is the background. My roommate listens to classical music while he studies. At first I would ignore it and put on my headphones and turn up some ALTERNATIVE WOO HOO! That kind of changed pretty soon though. One day he was listening to classical and something incredible came up. It was a Harry Potter Medley. As some of you know Harry Potter happens to be one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE THINGS EVER!
So that being said the SOMM for today is Hedwig's Theme. This is the classic Harry Potter song from the movies. It is an incredible song that features a huge build to the most intense parts. I ripped through an essay while listening to my Harry Potter Playlist on YouTube. It was absurd.
ALSO NEW FEATURE ANNOUNCEMENT! From now on I will also be posting links to each artist's Facebook page and Official Websites, provided that they have one. You may have noticed that I hyperlink-ed "Harry Potter" earlier. That link goes to the HP Movie Facebook Fan page. That way if you really like what I post it won't be hard to find more music from the bands. With this I will also be posting my blog posts on their walls, so that people who like this kind of music can find out other songs in the genre. I hope this feature will be appreciated.
REMEMBER TO SEND ME REQUESTS AT Track Drop Tuesday's Facebook page.

Track Drop Tuesday 11/8/2011
HEY! IT'S TDT TIME!
We got a bunch of alternative coming at you today.
Starting off with some AWOLNATION, Not Your Fault, which was uploaded to the band's YouTube account about 8 months ago, is a mad cool song. It reminds me of old RHCP, with a bit of extra kick. A lot of the verses function like old RHCP. The song is awesome, I love it and it is leading off today's TDT.
Next up, we got some Grouplove. The song Colours has been all over the radio. This song, which was uploaded to the band's YouTube about 10 months ago, January 4, 2011, actually a full twenty-one days before it was released in the US, is an awesome alternative song. To be honest, no, no I do not understand the music video to this song.
Third song! Cage the Elephant just released the music video for their song Aberdeen. The video was uploaded to the Band's VEVO on YouTube on the October 12, 2011. I apologize, this is another music video that I just do not understand. It is a great song though, very new and the music video, while blatantly odd, is a pretty good video.
Fourth to drop. Coldplay's song Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall. Coldplay is not really the newest trending band, but this song, uploaded with a video to their VEVO on YouTube, has only been online since June 28, 2011. Since that time it has garnered over twenty million views. I like this song, it is classic Coldplay, and I think it will be remembered with their other great songs.
Fifth and final tune. This Avicii, Daft Punk remix is of the song "Derezzed". Derezzed (Avicii Remix) [Daft Punk] is very high energy, like most Avicii, with distinct components of Daft Punk. I, unfortunately, do not know the exact age of this song, that being said, this upload on YouTube is about 7 months old. It may not be the original copy, however.
This week's TDT Crown goes to Avicii, with their Remix of Daft Punk on Derezzed. This song is so catchy and bouncy. It is a great tune that I, personally, would love to just go nuts to while listening.

Song On My Mind
I've been listening to the song Roll Away Your Stone, by Mumford & Sons.
This song is awesome, and it embodies everything that I love about Mumford. The song includes the folk-rock style of the band in a catchy song without the overplayed Little Lion Man.
The lyrics are very clever. I love the song.
That's the SOMM for today!

Track Drop Tuesday 11/1/2011
Here it is folks. Just a few minutes before midnight tolls.
TDT #1. Avicii, Fade Into Darkness. This song is basically.....GREAT! It is a peppy song with a lot of kick. Avicii makes me want to rave all night. The song was released less than 6 months ago, and some people have yet to discover the joy that is Avicii. I am merely spreading the good word! Dubstep may be great, but the dance, high energy synth and moderate bass of Avicii will knock heavy Dubstep right out of the park.
Song number 2: This song comes into TDT from Zach Gilbert. This mixed song gives me hope for the future generations of music that is not driven on a synth plugged into a MacBook, but real instruments. Don't Take It Out On Me should inspire young musicians everywhere, I'm talking about the kids in the garage with guitars. This song comes as a preview to Zach's band's EP, release date TBD. Hit up his SoundCloud for the latest tracks off the EP.
Tune Tres (3): Time for some FILTHY dub. I love Foster the People. It is a fact, in fact, they will be mentioned twice in this TDT. First is for a dubstep remix. Butch Clancy remixed the natural heart and soul already contained in the song into an android, futuristic wobble, that kept thte original song's characteristics. That, in my opinion, is a great remix. The remix is for Pumped Up Kicks. Pumped Up Kicks (Butch Clancy Remix) is a great tune. It came out about 5 months ago and is a great track.
FOURTH! Foster the People again! This time for one of their songs, Helena Beat. I love Helena Beat. The song, which, according to the band, is about the party scene and how it can become too much. "Took a Sip of somethin poison but I'll hold on tight" means a little more now, huh? Either way i love the song. it is one of my favorites. The music video was uploaded onto the Band's VEVO 3 months ago.
That is all for today folks.
I will see you next week.
OOOH! the Crown! Goes to my favorites, Foster the People, for Helena Beat. Awesome tune.
Peace.
